Never again a HP! It's been 30 days since I brought my iPAQ to service and I still haven't got a new/repaired unit. If this is normal I do not know what isn't - you buy a device like a PDA because you want to have data with you all the time and then you are left without it for 30 days & more because they are not capable to repair/replace it within one month?

I am still waiting for my replacement iPAQ H5550 to arrive. I brought it to service on 22nd of November and I have not yet got the replacement unit. I guess if I'd live in US I would already have the replacement unit, but here something like this is actually normal. So when I see a next upgrade online I will think twice before installing it ;) - if this isn't crazy I don't know what is - that person who decided to remove the "parrot mode" from iPAQ was not thinking straight.

I am now waiting to get a replacement unit from HP. I find this to be strange since there was nothing wrong with the iPAQ hardware - it simply did not finish updating - this means only ROM would have to be uploaded manually. With my previous iPAQ I did this myself with the help of that "parrot mode" and a new ROM was uploaded in a matter of minutes so I see no logic in what HP is doing. Well I can be glad they will send me a new unit because one pixel was dead on mine (hopefully it won't be worse on this unit), but what happens if I want to update my iPAQ when warranty is over? If they can not do anything else than replace the whole unit, this would mean I would actually have to pay for a replacement? This is crazy - I think it sounds sober if I say I will not update it after my warranty period is over. And this brings out the question why do we have Flash ROM? I have no idea why they removed that "parrot mode" and why they are not able to simply upload ROM file and get it done witnih a day. Any ideas? Comments? You know of a solution?
