Do you have WinXP and your ACDsee browser works terribly slow? I don't know whether there is a connection with the Windows version - I never had such problems before, but now I simply couldn't hold it any longer. Everything worked sooooo slow. Before all thunbails loaded I could go and have a cup of tea :) I did little searching and found a great image viewer / browser and it's even FREE! Check it out at: http://www.slowview.at/ Don't let the name confuse you :) it's fast - much faster than ACDsee in my case.

As seen on: Pocket PC Thoughts "So... you'd like to enhance the view of your tasks and appointments on your Today page?"

"tAgenda is a freeware Today screen plugin that shows more details on your tasks and appointments. It also lets you customize what you do and don't want to see. The program is available in English, German and Japanese versions, and a French version is under development."

You decide you want something to read and you start looking for an eBook because you want to read on your PocketPC. Is it easy to find an eBook to fit your demands? Not exactly. You need to be careful not just about the title and the contents (you need to be sure this book actually fits your taste), but also about the format in which that book you are looking at is available. Not an easy task especially if you don't want to purchase DRM5 titles but inspite that you prefer MS Reader :) This is what I've been doing today - looking for an eBook to read. What I found out is: Mobipocket library is increasing and they also have new releases (bestsellers) in secure eBook format - don't know yet how exactly it works - will let you know - I guess it is not as bad as with DRM5. Second thing I found out is: more and more new releases for MS Reader are DRM5 - or I could even say every single one (with this I mean bestsellers; there are still DRM2 titles you can get from small publishing houses) - I must say that there are well known authors who still publish DRM2 MS Reader titles - Warren Adler is one of them. I surely hope more authors will see him as an example and demand DRM2 from their publishers. And third: peanutpress.com is still a great refuge if you get confused around DRM... All in all it's not easy to decide between these three especially if one eBook is available in all three formats :) When you are looking for Palm Reader eBooks you know where to go, but how about MS Reader titles? 99% of web pages won't tell you which eBook is DRM5 and which DRM2. They simply sell eBooks and don't have a clue what DRM actually is. This is sad... especially for a user that doesn't know what he/she purchased and will find out in a month? a year? .... The best site for purchasing eBooks when you don't want to restrict yourself to a single format or when you are looking for MS Reader titles surely is fictionwise.com. They are the only site (as far as I know - let me know if I am wrong) that has each and every title marked whether it is secure Mobipocket or secure MS Reader and they have eBooks sorted in categories whether they are secure or not and by Reader software as well as those categories we are used to from paper books. This is the site where you really know what you buy and I hope other sites will follow the example. So the final point is: if you are looking for an eBook and want to know what you will get, go to www.fictionwise.com. On their page you will even find bestsellers in DRM2 format while on other sites they may also have DRM2 titles but they are simply not marked. And by the way - this is not an affiliate link and I am in no way connected with fictionwise. It is just my finding after a whole day search for an eBook ;)

I found a site that sells eBooks in different formats - they also offer MS Reader titles, but only in DRM5 - not exactly good news but still, I like it because it has an option for users to post their oppinion. And for those who don't mind purchasing DRM5 ebooks they currently have 25% discount for many titles. Hurry up if you want to save some money. URL: http://www.simonsays.com/

Today I had a chance to see how my Today Themes look on H3800 LCD screen. It is different from what I see on my iPAQ - images are darker (more realistic colors), but text is still readable. I was glad to be able to check it out, since I always test a theme before uploading it. I want to offer good quality themes where you can easily read text and I also take care not to use photos with too many transitions, since the first iPAQs can't display so many colors. I found out that I need to load a new image every time I make a new theme even though I want to use the same one. I did this with the Leonardo Da Vinci series and I see that MS's program for creating themes reduces image quality when saving for the second time - not a good example on programming I'd say :)

Let's see ... what I have to do now is finally finish my "About" page. I have a few new spring photos that I will use for creating PocketPC2002 themes and this reminds me I need to add another section to the "Skins" page and I also need to update my "Photography" section. A lot to do :) I am looking for something to read - after all this time a great eBook would be welcome. I haven't yet decided for a title and would sure like your help; have you recently read a book that really blew you away? Let me know here or on my discussion board. I'd really appreciate it. In case you like reading eBooks and would like to post your own reviews on my eBooks page let me know and I will give you your own username and password. On the other hand if you prefer discussion boards post your thoughts there. I need to bring that board back to life and it won't work without you. Do you have any discount codes? Photos you made yourself? News clippings? Questions? You are more than welcome to post them on my discussion board!
